Thread Lift – A Viable Solution To Surgical Face Lifting

Date :04-Feb-2016

Facial muscles tend to lose elasticity as one age. If you are looking for ways in which you can turn the clock, and get a youthful skin which has no traces of fine lines and wrinkles then face lifts is the best option for you. The effect of facelifts lasts for around seven to ten years. Facelifts can either be surgical or non-surgical like thread lifts.

Thread lifts, also known as suture lifts, is a procedure in which thin threads are attached to the skin tissues on the targeted areas through tiny incisions. These threads are then pulled back so as to lift and smooth the face. The threads acts like suspension cables and hold up the skin in place, at the same time provide a supportive structure which brings down the effect of gravity as well as aging. This way thread lift tightens as well as volumizes those areas of the skin which are loose or sagging.

The Process

Before the thread is inserted markings are made determine the point through which the thread should enter the skin tissues, the directional vectors as well as the exit points for the thread. The entry and exit points of the threads vary with the type of thread used – single directional/ bi-directional.

Though usually a minor incision is made for the thread’s entry, these days only a puncture wound is created with a large gauge needle in order to insert the thread under the skin tissue. Generally, areas around cheeks may need several threads so that the cheek fat can be plumped up for a volumized and youthful effect. When it comes to the area around the neck, laced sutures are used to support and lock the skin at the lower jaw area so that the patient gets a contoured neckline.

The Results

As mentioned earlier, the results of this procedure are immediately visible and improve in the upcoming months as the collagen remodeling takes effect. These threads are invisible though can be felt by fingers in certain areas. While there have been cases where few patients have reported slight ache while smiling or eating food, these symptoms usually fade away within a week. Along with the ache, bruising, swelling and dimpling also fades away as the sutures get absorbed.

The threads used in this process are similar to those used in cardiovascular and opthalmic surgeries. They are designed in such a manner that it stimulates collagen production while holding the thread in place. This is one of the best options for those who fall in the age group of 30 to 60 years – have gentle sagging which is apparent at the same time have enough collagen deposits for regeneration to take place.

Usually sagging brows, cheeks, nasal flare, lips, jaw line and neck line are areas which can be tightened using this face lifting method. Depending of the type of thread used in this process the benefits of thread lifts lasts for 18 months to up to 5 years.

What gives this Face lift treatment an edge over the traditional method of face lifting is that this procedure is not only least invasive but is also less time to consume, less risky as well as gives immediate results.

Consult your cosmetologist to know if you are the right candidate for thread face lift.
